SAP HANA on SUSE – Thousands of customers can’t be wrong

SAP is a world leader in enterprise applications in terms of software and software-related service revenue. Over 350,000 customers run SAP software in more than 180 countries. Many of those customers are running their SAP applications on SAP HANA, the leading database today.

Since the introduction of SAP HANA, many businesses running their SAP systems on IBM Power servers were waiting for the in-memory database to be available on their platform of choice. Over 3 years ago SUSE collaborated with IBM and SAP and was first to deliver a Linux distribution for SAP HANA on IBM POWER processor-based systems. As a result, there are over 1000 happy customers running SAP HANA on SUSE Linux Enterprise and IBM Power. But SUSE was not only the first delivering SAP HANA on IBM Power, SAP HANA was developed on SUSE Linux Enterprise. For many years SUSE Linux Enterprise was the only operating system for SAP HANA. This is why the majority of the SAP customers as well as SAP rely on SUSE, the #1 platform for SAP applications to ease the transition to the new digital age. Today over 90% of all SAP HANA implementations run on SUSE.
