Taking advantage of the latest technology at a pace that makes sense for your business.
Now you can better manage the risk and expense of changing elements of your critical systems. If you have a large, complex environment or just want more control over deciding when to update your platform, Long Term Service Pack Support is your answer.
Need more than 6 months to transition to the latest Service Pack?
We generally release service packs approximately every 18 months, and support previous service packs for an industry-standard six months after the release of the new service pack. If you need additional time to design, validate and test your upgrade plans, Long Term Service Pack Support can extend the support you get an additional 12 to 36 months in 12-month increments, giving you a total of three to five years of support on any given service pack.
Need assistance beyond the General Support phase?
SUSE provides a ten year general support lifecycle for each major version of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. However, some specialized SUSE Linux Enterprise Server deployments require greater longevity by incorporating as little change as possible into these environments and reducing updates to nothing more than the essential "must haves." For those customers that require this additional platform stability, Long Term Service Pack Support enables you to extend the lifecycle of each major version of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server up to an additional 3 years, for a total of thirteen years. An active SUSE Linux Enterprise Server subscription is required and configuration limitations apply.
The Solution: SUSE's Long Term Service Pack Support
Long Term Service Pack Support allows customers to maintain their current operating system version as long as possible, preserving both the stability and security of their data centers, as they transition from one service pack version to the next.
Long Term Service Pack Support includes:
- Access to SUSE's award winning support organization for unlimited service requests
- Hours and response times are determined by your subscription level
- Priority subscriptions provide 24x7 coverage with 1 hour response for critical issues
- Standard subscriptions offer 12x5 coverage with 2 hour response time for critical issues
