HPE Discover (Las Vegas, 2017): Simple hybrid IT and the intelligent edge

One more year and one more Discover under our belts. 🙂

The conference offers our SUSE team the opportunity to chat with customers, partners and HPE employees who work with us on a daily basis, and we simply love it.

If you were there or if you are reading about the conference, watching videos etc. you will see that HPE`s main mission is 3-fold: make hybrid IT simple, power the intelligent edge & bring services to help customer on that journey, as Jim Jackson, SVP Enterprise Group Marketing at HPE, covered on his interview.

You can also see that on the General Session, HPE`s CEO Meg Whitman, covered those topics one by one when she discussed the “Cloud cliff”, which is when customers realize they reached their limit on public cloud and for reasons of security, performance and cost, they choose to bring some workloads back to private cloud. HPE then goes on to position themselves as offering the right mix of hybrid cloud.

She also explained the “Edge”, which is “the world outside your datacenter and where companies are at the most risk of being disrupted” not to mention the fact that 43% of data will be analyzed in the edge by 2020.

And finally, she points out that services now matter more than ever as customers need a partner to deliver the right experience to their digital transformation journey providing faster execution and less risk. Which should be covered by HPE`s Pointnext.

It is always great to see our Partner`s vision for the future and how they plan to get there while servicing their customers with the best offerings they can gather in the market.

And, of course, SUSE plans to be there at the top of the list as HPE`s Preferred partner for Linux, OpenStack and Cloud Foundry.
