PN Technology Partner of the Year Award 2020

SUSE is pleased to announce it was selected as the winner of APN Technology Partner of the Year Award 2020 for the DACH region. We are very proud to receive this award! The APN Partner Awards recognize members of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN) who are leaders in the channel and play a key role in helping customers to drive innovation and build solutions on AWS. SUSE has been working with AWS for over a decade to bring the benefits of SUSE’s open source technologies to AWS customers.

SUSE is an AWS Advanced Technology Partner, an AWS Container Competency Partner, and earlier this year became a member of the AWS Public Sector Partner Program. These designations clearly demonstrate SUSE’s strong relationship with AWS.

Over the years, we’ve leveraged the benefits that the APN can offer through participation in go-to-market sales programs, and customer events and activities—many with SUSE partners, who are also fellow members of the APN.

But our collaboration is not exclusive to sales or marketing engagements. We have dedicated AWS Solution Architects focused on helping our customers successfully implement SUSE technologies on AWS. Also, our engineers work closely with AWS on testing and development at SAP’s Linux Labs in Walldorf, Germany.

We’ve continually expanded our scope of offerings on AWS. Starting in 2010, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server was one of the first enterprise Linux distributions available on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) and AWS Free Tier. Over the years, SUSE continually increased our global reach through availability in additional AWS Regions, including AWS GovCloud and recently in 2020 to the AWS Africa (Cape Town) and AWS Europe (Milan) Regions.

Since 2015, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications, a purpose-built Linux OS optimized to run SAP workloads and created through joint engineering collaboration with SAP, became available in AWS Marketplace on a pay-as-you-go basis. Our technology supports the value proposition that AWS brings to customers who wish to run their mission-critical SAP production workloads (SAP HANA, S/4HANA, and NetWeaver) in the cloud.

Today customers can run SAP-certified production workloads with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications on AWS with support for a variety of Amazon EC2 instances (High Memory, R5, i3, C5/M5, bare metal, etc.), high availability configurations, high memory workloads, and large scale-out clusters. There are multiple options for support and you can save up to 70% by purchasing Reserved Instances.

In 2019 SUSE began supporting Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) for containerized workloads with SUSE Cloud Application Platform.

There is more to come and continue to watch this space for from the latest from SUSE and AWS. Learn more about SUSE and AWS on our Alliance Homepage.
