SAS Extends SUSE Platform Support with SAS Viya
Brings additional analytics and AI capabilities.
SAS, a leader in analytics, has announced the availability of SAS Viya, a cloud ready, in-memory analytics solution, on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12. This extends the breadth of SAS software available on SLES, adding new analytics and AI (artificial intelligence) capabilities, and enabling existing SAS clients to augment their current solutions with new capabilities of SAS Viya.
One of the overall benefits of SAS Viya is that it brings the analytics capabilities of the SAS Platform to a broad cross-section of an organization’s users. Joint customers of SAS and SUSE can also leverage open source application development and database technologies such as Python, R, and MongoDB (also supported with SUSE Linux) to obtain new levels of integration, helping unify analytics and AI assets. SAS Viya also includes public REST APIs to underlying functionality, so software developers can add proven SAS resources to applications, or customize SAS Viya to meet specific requirements.
SAS and SUSE have many customers who utilize our combined technology to assist them in leveraging data, and making critical business decisions. I am excited by the new capabilities which our clients will have with SAS Viya, and would like to hear about innovative use cases for SAS Viya with SLES. If you have any cool (or even not-so-cool) stories to share about plans for using SAS Viya and SLES, or if you are a software developer that would like to be part of our SUSE ecosystem, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
