Tips for getting to SUSE Expert Days – Dallas

We’re getting excited about our Dallas stop on the SUSE Expert Days roadshow coming up November 7th!

When planning for this event, we sought a location that would provide a unique, memorable experience to host our day of technical presentations, and the Tower Club fit the bill. Knowing that this may not be as easy of a place to get to due to traffic, our local SUSE Expert and Dallas native, Rick Spurgeon, has some tips on how to get there.

Hi!  Rick Spurgeon here.  Lifelong resident of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

If you haven’t been to the Tower Club before, it is nice.  My wife and I have had dinner there a couple of times, and the food was good, the facility is beautiful, and the view is wonderful from a lofty 48 stories above Thanksgiving Square in downtown Dallas.

If you haven’t ridden DART yet, it is a pleasant experience – especially DART rail.  The closest DART rail station is the Akard Station, and it is a couple of blocks away.  Since I will be coming from the direction of Fort Worth, I will take the Trinity Railway Express to either Victory Station or Union Station.  Both stations have a couple of DART rail lines that I can switch to that will pass through Akard Station.  Here’s a map.

If you have any questions, or problems getting there, call me on my cell at 817-929-0880.

If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time! While you’re at it, have your friends and colleagues register, too. Simply go to suse.com/expertdays and select Dallas in the list of North American cities to complete your registration.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at the Tower Club on November 7th, and maybe we’ll even see you on DART!

P.S. We will be validating parking for those who decide to drive. Be sure to park in the garage underneath the building.
