Failed to set time: Automatic time synchronization is enabled

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Application 12

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Application 15
 

Situation

Setting the system time using the 'timedatectl' command was unsuccessful due to the following case.
 
timedatectl set-time '2023-07-18 15:11:00'
Failed to set time: Automatic time synchronization is enabled


 

Resolution

Disable Network Time synchronisation with following command.
timedatectl set-ntp false

Afterward, Set the time according to your desired date and time. 
timedatectl set-time '2023-07-18 15:11:00'


 

Cause

Network Time synchronising (NTP) was enable in system.
