SUSE®, the company behind SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE), Rancher and NeuVector, today announced plans to double its presence in Latin America with investments and hiring in Brazil and Mexico. The company has set growth targets of 500% over next 5 years, driven by new investments and a thriving market for cloud-based enterprise applications.

"This investment is a significant step in our growth strategy for Latin America, a region that is expected to grow twice the overall growth over the next three years,” said Werner Knoblich, chief revenue officer (CRO) of SUSE. “Latin America is experiencing significant growth in demand for IT software and services, in part due to the acceleration of business application migration to the cloud. SUSE’s innovative open source solutions are tailored to meet this demand and provide choice for our customers through our secure, scalable and adaptable open source solutions.”

Gartner forecasts that by 2027, end-user spending on public cloud services in Latin America will reach $28.5 billion with a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.7 percent[1]. Further Gartner predicts that by 2025, distributed cloud computing will likely be adopted by between 88% (Spanish Latin America) and 89% (Brazil), and edge computing by between 72% (Spanish Latin America) and 61% (Brazil) of organizations[2].

"The migration of applications to the cloud is an irreversible trend, but it comes with challenges that need to be addressed. The complexity of managing these environments, which are often hybrid and multi-cloud, is an area that requires careful attention and planning by CIOs," said Marcos Lacerda, president of SUSE for Latin America. "We are strategically positioned to help companies address these challenges, thanks to our robust solutions which provide support for mixed environments and allow our customers to choose what works best for them.”

SUSE has established a new office in São Paulo that provides flexibility and agility to accommodate team growth. The company plans to double the size of its sales force in Brazil and strengthen local support and engineering teams. The company will also open a new office in Mexico City, reinforcing its presence in the country, where it previously operated through partners.

Building on twenty years’ experience in Latin America, SUSE powers companies’ innovation through open source technology. In Brazil, the company has a broad portfolio of clients who are leaders in their respective industries.

SUSE also announced this week the availability of Rancher Prime 2.0, enhancing customers’ ability to manage heterogeneous, multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments securely and at scale. Rancher 2.8 is now generally available with new features including upgraded Kubernetes support, enhanced platform customization and improved GitOps workflows. SLE Micro 5.5 now allows users to download container and workload images from trusted registries. These latest enhancements continue to meet the diverse needs of the developer while furthering SUSE’s mission to provide choice.
