Ceph health shows HEALTH_WARN: require_osd_release is not luminous

Environment

SUSE Enterprise Storage 5

Situation

After upgrading an existing SUSE Enterprise Storage (SES) 3 or 4 cluster successfully to SES 5, a health warning is displayed when checking the cluster health:

:~ # ceph health
HEALTH_WARN all OSDs are running luminous or later but require_osd_release < luminous

Resolution

Execute the following command on the admin node after the upgrade to SES 5 is complete:

ceph osd require-osd-release luminous

Cause

Until all OSDs (Object Storage Daemons) are running Luminous, the flag can not be updated.
