This document (7018395) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Manager 2.1

Situation

Attempting to run a mgr-sync refresh on a SUSE Manager 2.1 server returns a 500 Internal Server Error

Resolution

Look for the following error in the /var/log/rhn/rhn_web_api.log:

redstone.xmlrpc.XmlRpcFault: unhandled internal exception: could not delete collection: [com.redhat.rhn.domain.product.SUSEProduct.extensionOf#1629]

Cause

This error is caused by fully patching a SUSE Manager 2.1 server and not running spacewalk-schema-upgrade.  To upgrade the schema run the following on the SUSE Manager Server:

1. spacewalk-service stop
2. spacewalk-schema-upgrade

A message similar to the following will appear:

Schema upgrade: [susemanager-schema-2.1.50.16-15.2] -> [susemanager-schema-2.1.50.18-21.1]
Searching for upgrade path to: [susemanager-schema-2.1.50.18-21.1]

Simply press Enter to continue.

3. spacewalk-service start
