This document (7017920) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Manager 3

Situation

The repository sync fails even of the repository is set up properly and repomd.xml is downloaded via e.g. curl.

../rhn/reposync/<reponame>:
Sync started: Thu Aug  4 12:13:51 2016
['/usr/bin/spacewalk-repo-sync', '-c', '<reponame>', '--url=http://<reposerver>/<reponame>/']
RepoError: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: <reponame>. Please verify its path and try again

Resolution

Configure proxy to allow connections to the repository.

Cause

Proxy prevents accessing the repository.

/etc/rhn/spacewalk-repo-sync/yum.conf contains proxy settings. Tracing would show:

strace -s 256 -o reposync.trace spacewalk-repo-sync...
recvfrom(10, "HTTP/1.1 502 Proxy Error ( No data record is available.  )\r\n\r\nConnection: close\r\nProxy-Connection: close\r\nPragma:
