Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12

Situation

Using SLES 12 machines as NFS v3 clients to a NetApp filer.   After boot up, NFS locks function correctly.  However, after some time NFS locks can no longer be obtained by the client.  The problem continues until the SLES NFS client machine is rebooted.

Resolution

A bug was identified and fixed.  From the SLES 12 maintenance channel, update the Linux kernel (on the NFS client) to version 3.12.44-52.10.1 or higher.
