Postfix configuration not written during AutoYaST installation

This document (7006719) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2

Situation

Configuration settings for postfix are not written from /etc/sysconfig/postfix to /etc/postfix/main.cf during an automated installation using AutoYaST.

Resolution

Please create a postinstall script in the AutoYaST xml file to run /usr/sbin/SuSEconfig.postfix during the installation.

Cause

As of SLES11SP2, SuSEconfig.postfix is no longer located in /sbin/conf.d/ to avoid rewrites of the postfix configuration each time SuSEconfig gets executed. Due to a bug in the yast2-mail module on the installation media /usr/sbin/SuSEconfig.postfix is not run during the installation.
