Join the SUSE Documentation team in welcoming the newest addition to the SUSE Documentation Portal: Our new documentation chatbot called Ask Geeko. Designed as a natural language interface to all the technical documentation hosted on documentation.suse.com, it offers a search experience beyond mere keyword search. Move on from the “What” to the “How” and chat with Ask Geeko to find the answers to your most pressing documentation questions.

Putting an end to your search and findability pain points

Findability and searchability on documentation.suse.com have long been the top pain points mentioned in our user surveys. Ask Geeko addresses them. You don’t have to rely on search engines or AI tools to search SUSE documentation anymore. With Ask Geeko, you can now query all of the SUSE documentation sources in one place on documentation.suse.com

Get the answers that genuinely pertain to SUSE products

Ask Geeko offers the distinct advantage of confining its answers exclusively to SUSE-specific information. You can rely on the fact that Ask Geeko will not search the broader Internet and inadvertently include irrelevant details that do not pertain to SUSE products, providing both convenience and assurance.

Help improve Ask Geeko

As readers of our documentation and as users of Ask Geeko, you can help us make it even better than today. Use the built-in feedback mechanism to drop a thumbs up/down to let us know whether the answer provided by the chatbot was helpful. Or leave us‌ detailed written feedback, which we can then use to optimize our content and the bot’s answers.

The roadmap

While the public launch of Ask Geeko at SUSECON as Tech Preview is a huge milestone, we have plans far beyond that date. Adding more SUSE content sources to its scope is one of them. As is implementing a login functionality on documentation.suse.com, so Ask Geeko can offer special features to authenticated users. Watch this space for updates.

Until we launch these new features, we will be constantly tuning Ask Geeko to get even better. Help us make it even more powerful by providing concrete feedback inside the bot. We will be monitoring the conversations, analyzing the prompts, and hunting for actionable feedback in the comments!
