Oracle OpenWorld Demos Show SUSE Linux and Oracle9i Real Application Clusters For Enterprise Scalability.

Today, SUSE Linux, the international technology leader and solutions provider in open source, announced its Linux operating system is now validated for Oracle9i Database, the latest advanced database technology from Oracle Corp. (NASDAQ: ORCL). With this validation, SUSE Linux broadens its enterprise directives to reach a wide audience of IT customers committed to deploying the extensive e-business infrastructure provided through Oracle9i Database..

Demo Description.
The demonstrations at Oracle OpenWorld in Berlin will be the first demonstrations of Oracle9i RAC on Linux and Network Appliance Filers. The Oracle9i Real Application Clusters demos show the high availability and scalability strengths of Oracle9i Database. The demonstrated solution consists of four FastTango Intel-based servers running SUSE Linux, connected to a Network Appliance F840 Filer. Oracle9i Real Application Clusters provides database clustering and leverages FastTango's infrastructure. The demos will show high availability and scalability by removing or adding nodes in the cluster in real time, with no interruption of the application.
