Checking ISOs from newer products on SLES 11 SP1/SP2 for LTSS customers

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2 (SLES 11 SP2) LTSS
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1 (SLES 11 SP1) LTSS

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2 (SLES 11 SP2)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1 (SLES 11 SP1)

Situation

LTSS customers with SLES 11 SP1 or SLES 11 SP2 that consider an upgrade to SLES 11 SP3 who want to check the ISO images on their LTSS systems before starting the upgrade.

Resolution

SLES 11 SP1 and SP2 does contain the "checkmedia" package but that version cannot check SLES 11 SP3 media as the ISO generation was changed and the checkmedia will report checksum errors in these cases.
