When creating a Read-Only API user in SUSE Manager 4.0 or SUSE Manager 4.1 web UI, the password can be longer than 32 characters, however the following error is reported in spacecmd :

You can add a maximum password length limit in /etc/rhn/rhn.conf  as follows:

max_passwd_len = 32

Updating the system to the latest patch may also solve this problem.

There are multiple possible causes for this to occur :

  • code issues
