SMT does not mirror src rpms

This document (7011978) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2

Situation

On the SMT server src rpms are not being mirrored.

The configuration file /etc/smt.conf has option MirrorSRC set to true.

Resolution

Remove local repomd.xml file from the affected repository.

Example:
rm /srv/www/htdocs/repo/\$RCE/SLES11-SP1-Updates/sle-11-x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml

Then "smt-mirror" will download correct repomd.xml and src rpms will be mirrored.

Cause

The repository repomd.xml file may be corrupt. During the "smt-mirror" command a HEAD request is done and field "Last-Modified" is being checked for modifications. This value is not changing for the repositories of products that are not supported anymore. Therefore the correct copy of repomd.xml is not being downloaded.
