hostip" parameter is not working with autoyast on vmware

This document (7008549) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1

Situation

When using autoyast to do the installation it is not assigning the IP address before it looks for the autoyast file.

Example of parameters used at boot time:
hostip=192.168.1.1 netmask=255.255.255.0 gateway=192.168.1.254 nameserver=192.168.1.253 autoyast=nfs://192.168.1.5/export/autoyast.xml

Resolution

Add the "netsetup=1" parameter to the boot line.

For example:
netsetup=1 hostip=192.168.1.1 netmask=255.255.255.0 gateway=192.168.1.254 nameserver=192.168.1.253 autoyast=nfs://192.168.1.5/export/autoyast.xml
