High traffic on Hyper-V guest cause network interface to fail

This document (7008080) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1

When utilizing the synthetic network interface (kernel driver: hv_netvsc.ko) in a SLES11SP1 installation running as guest on Microsoft 2008 R2 Hyper-V after some time the interface does not respond anymore. Shutting down the interface using ifdown ethX and ifup ethX gets the connectivity temporarily back.

Please update to kernel-*- or later to address this issue.
