This document (7005924) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop running either iwlagn-2-6-27-kmp-pae-1.0_2.6.27.45_0.3-0.18.1 or iwlagn-2-6-27-kmp-default-1.0_2.6.27.45_0.3-0.18.1

The latest update for iwlagn in SLED 11 (ie iwlagn-2-6-27-kmp-pae-1.0_2.6.27.45_0.3-0.18.1 or iwlagn-2-6-27-kmp-default-1.0_2.6.27.45_0.3-0.18.1) causes the wireless adapter to disappear from Network Devices in YaST, yet still show up with hwinfo --netcard, and wireless functionality will no longer work.

To resolve this issue simply roll iwlagn back to: iwlagn-2-6-27-kmp-pae-1.0_2.6.27.42_0.1-0.15.1 or iwlagn-2-6-27-kmp-default-1.0_2.6.27.42_0.1-0.15.1.  The older version can be installed using the Software Manager in YaST.
