How to create an autoyast clone config file from the current system

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10

 

Situation

An autoyast configuration file needs to be generated to clone an existing system, without use of the YaST2 GUI module.

Resolution

Run the command:

yast2 clone_system

to automatically generate the xml config file. The output is stored as /root/autoinst.xml by default.
