net-snmp crashes on walking

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP1


When configuring net-snmp- to proxy, only snmpget works; snmpwalk or snmpgetnext make the SNMP daemon snmpd crash.


Please update to version of net-snmp via online update.

How to reproduce: use the following settings in /etc/snmpd.conf:
proxy -v 2c -c public
accessing snmpd through
snmpwalk -v 2c -c public .
iso. = INTEGER: 44
iso. = Gauge32: 141681680
iso. = Gauge32: 2863333376
iso. = INTEGER: 0
Timeout: No Response from
Checking the status of snmpd afterwards shows the snmpd process died:
rcsnmpd status
Checking for service snmpd:        dead
