Overview

The Motorists Insurance Group has assets of more than a billion dollars and markets competitive personal, commercial and life insurance products. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, the company has 1,200 employees and 2,800 independent agents.

Challenge

After learning that a mainframe upgrade would cost more than $1 million, the IT staff began evaluating the advantages of an open, distributed environment.
