Datalounges, SUSE Linux Enterprise & OpenStack

When the cool companies of the world think “OpenStack”… they think “SUSE”. And not just because SUSE won (nay… dominated) Intel’s Rule The Stack competition (a speed trial to see who can set up OpenStack instances faster than anyone else in the land) three years in a row.

SLESOpenStackLoveIn the far away realm of Finland (well, “far away” for me here on the West Coast of North America) is a cloud service provider known as Datalounges. When Datalounges sat down to decide on an OpenStack distribution, they chose SUSE OpenStack Cloud — running on top of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.

Because… well…  I’ll let them tell it in their own words:

“We want to be the best OpenStack cloud computing service provider in Finland. That’s why we partnered with SUSE.” – Kai Kankaala, Board Advisor, Datalounges

That, right there, is a seriously bold statement.  Kai continues:

“SUSE OpenStack Cloud has been our cloud services platform from day one. We also tested pure OpenStack and the Red Hat variant. The SUSE option was superior in terms of pricing, the enterprise-level support and built-in automation features. We want to be the best OpenStack cloud computing service provider in Finland. That’s why we partnered with SUSE.”

You can read more of what Kai, and the crew at Datalounges, has to say right here.
