Accessing servers for SUSE registration and update infrastructure in Public Cloud

Environment

Public Cloud

 


Situation

Customer has restricted access on ports 80 and 443 to a subset of public IP addresses in order to improve the security of their deployed infrastructure. With this change is in place, they are no longer able to refresh SUSE repositories to update the system(s).

 

Resolution

SUSE instances provisioned in the public cloud must not block access to the public IP addresses of the RMT infrastructure to patch and maintain their systems. This includes the addresses for all of the RMT servers in the region to which they provisioned, as well as all of the Region servers that support their cloud service provider. Specific IP address for the RMT infrastructure in each Cloud Service Provider and Region can be found in
