Prague Calling: Docs Are Taking Stage at SUSECON 2026!
The countdown is officially on: we are less than two weeks away from SUSECON 2026 in beautiful Prague! I’ll be honest—the Documentation team is already buzzing. It’s already a tradition that we’re here with a dedicated track, but for 2026, we’ve packed in even more value for you. We’re moving far beyond just “manuals and articles” to provide a serious lineup of sessions focused on your success—showing you how to navigate, master, and even co-create the documentation you use every single day.
But before we dive into the “what,” let’s talk about the “why.” The absolute highlight for us isn’t just the slides or the demos—it’s you. We are so looking forward to meeting our customers and partners face-to-face. Whether it’s a deep dive at our booth, a quick chat in the gangway between sessions, or a relaxed conversation during the evening events, those connections are the heartbeat of the event.
The “Track-in-a-Track”: Build your own documentation environment
We are effectively “kicking off” the conference on Monday, April 20th, with a dedicated Documentation Session Track from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The star of this show is our 4-part mini track-in-the-track, “Build your own documentation environment,” designed to take you through the entire lifecycle of modern docs:

- Tailored to Your Environment: Documentation Strategies for Every Speed (Part 1) [DOCUMENTATION-1351]
- The Scoop: Explore the “Cadence Chasm” between documenting stable, long-term platforms versus rapid CI/CD-driven projects. Learn why SUSE maintains two engines—DAPS and Antora—and how to choose the one that fits your audience, from stability-focused SysAdmins to automation-hungry DevOps.
- Time: 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM
- Speakers: Tanja Roth & Padraig Dillon
- Engineering Documentation: Using Antora, AsciiDoc, and Automation (Part 2) [DOCUMENTATION-1353]
- The Scoop: A deep dive into SUSE’s cloud-native toolchain. We’ll pop the hood on using Antora, AsciiDoc, and CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment for a production documentation site.
- Time: 1:50 PM – 2:55 PM
- Speakers: John Krug & Hridyesh Singh Bisht
- Documents that Deliver: Mastering Technical Writing for your Global Audience (Part 3) [DOCUMENTATION-1354]
- The Scoop: Creating content that connects globally. We’ll demonstrate how to write content that is easy to process for native speakers, translation engines, and AI chatbots by using three fundamental principles of structure and clarity.
- Time: 1:00 PM – 1:55 PM
- Speakers: Daria Vladykina & Julia Faltenbacher
- The 360° AI Strategy: Optimizing Documentation for Humans and Machines (Part 4) [DOCUMENTATION-1357]
- The Scoop: Learn how SUSE balances AI-assisted writing with the precision required for content that is both human-readable and machine-readable. We’ll share our “Golden Rule”: Garbage In = Hallucinations Out, and how structure is the key to future-proofing.
- Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Speakers: Jana Jaeger & Frank Sundermeyer
Empowering our community: Join the conversation
Beyond building your own environment, we have two crucial sessions aimed at turning you from a user into an active contributor:
- From User to Contributor: Improving SUSE Documentation for Linux and Cloud Native [DOCUMENTATION-1362]
- The Scoop: We’re demystifying the contribution process. Whether it’s fixing a kernel parameter in SLE docs or a Kubernetes manifest in Rancher, we’ll show you that contributing is not rocket science—and no specialized tooling expertise is required.
- Time: 2:00 PM – 2:55 PM
- Speakers: Meike Chabowski & Petr Kovar
- Beyond the Manual: (Co-)Creating SUSE Best Practices, Technical References, and more [DOCUMENTATION-1368]
- The Scoop: Help us co-create SUSE Best Practices (SBPs) and Technical Reference Documentation (TRDs). Learn how to turn your real-world enterprise implementations and validated designs into recognizable resources for the entire community.
- Time: 3:00 PM – 3:55 PM
- Speaker: Meike Chabowski (& Terry Smith)
Birds of a Feather (BoF) Breakfast
Keep an eye out for our morning BoF session! We are planning a casual breakfast gathering before one of the daily keynotes. This will be an open floor for sharing feedback, networking with the doc team, and discussing how we can continuously improve the documentation experience together.
Catch us at the Tech Showcase
When we aren’t in sessions, the entire team will be staffing a dedicated Documentation Demo Kiosk in the Tech Showcase from Monday evening through Thursday.
Stop by our kiosk to:
- See the latest features of our documentation portal.
