Introduction

In line with the recent openSUSE announcement, we had to change our Bugzilla products to make them more visible to our openSUSE community:

  • PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4,
  • PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 15 SP4,
  • PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 15 SP4
  • and PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro 5.2

Unfortunately this cause two issues for Beta Testers/Customers/Partners/SUSE Colleagues:

  1. Who bookmarked or have a saved query in Bugzilla utilising the PUBLIC products AND have classification set to SUSE only, will miss bugs from PUBLIC products in query results.
  2. Who want to report bugs explicitly via the PUBLIC products have to report them through classification openSUSE unlike in the past when it was under SLES. So a change in workflow compared to the past.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and hope that you can find back the PUBLIC products in bugzilla.suse.com or bugzilla.opensuse.org and adapt the search queries accordingly.

More details

To be more precise and to use bugzilla specific terms, in the past we had:

  • Classification: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server -> Product: PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4
  • Classification: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server -> Product: PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro 5.2
  • Classification: SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop -> Product: PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 15 SP4
  • Classification: SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension -> Product: PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 15 SP4

now he have:

  • Classification: openSUSE -> Product: PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4
  • Classification: openSUSE -> Product: PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 15 SP4
  • Classification: openSUSE -> Product: PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 15 SP4
  • Classification: openSUSE -> Product: PUBLIC SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro 5.2

This really allow our community to see our PUBLIC products right from bugzilla.opensuse.org

bugzilla1

Last but not least we had considered other changes with less limitations but IT said that this was the only possible implementation with our current bugzilla.suse.com and bugzilla.opensuse.org platforms. More details on this page.

Search queries

The changes are disrupting your saved search queries which had the PUBLIC Products and you need to re-enable them by selecting the openSUSE Classification.

As you can see in this screenshot:

URLs

Fortunately enough, any bookmark of the URL for creating bugs in a PUBLIC product should continue to work without any change.

The moved did not affect the URL, so the following remain the same but you can now also use bugzilla.opensuse.org. Create a bug report for:

If you want to create a PUBLIC bug report, you can just go to https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/enter_bug.cgi?classification=openSUSE
