AutoYaST installation using multiple skip_list options within partitioning section fails with "merge" error

This document (7024249) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 4 (SLES 12 SP4)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15

Situation

Identifying disks by e.g. size rather UUID's as those are changing installing multiple instances.

AutoYaST installation using multiple skip_list options within partitioning section fails with "merge" error:
2019-10-23 09:50:29 <2> install(5389) [Ruby] yast/builtins.rb:586 tostring builtin called on wrong type Class
2019-10-23 09:50:29 <3> install(5389) [Ruby] yast/wfm.rb:253 Client call failed with 'no implicit conversion of nil into Hash' (TypeError) and backtrace ["/usr/lib64/ruby/vendor_ruby/2.1.0/yast/builtins.rb:393:in `merge!'", "/usr/lib64/ruby/vendor_ruby/2.1.0/yast/builtins.rb:393:in `block in listmap'", "/usr/lib64/ruby/vendor_ruby/2.1.0/yast/builtins.rb:392:in `each'", "/usr/lib64/ruby/vendor_ruby/2.1.0/yast/builtins.rb:392:in `listmap'", "/mounts/mp

Resolution

During installation section partitioning set up only the operating system disk. Data disks and partitions can be set up via post install script.

Cause

The skip_list is defined under a specific disk, but only once a skip_list can be defined.
