SUSE Linux Showcases Well-known Linux Experts at LinuxWorld Expo

CTO Dirk Hohndel and SUSE Team of Industry Experts to Demonstrate Technical Superiority of Newly Released SUSE 7.1 and New Open Source Directives

Today, SUSE Linux, the international technology leader and solutions provider in open source operating system (OS) software, announced the availability of several key developers at the SUSE booth during LinuxWorld Expo in New York. In addition to CTO Dirk Hohndel's keynote address on Friday, Feb. 2nd, the team of SUSE experts at the show includes:

    Alan Robertson, architect of Heartbeat, STONITH, and other high-availability software for Linux
    Anas Nashif, expert in supercomputing cluster technology on Linux, developer of the beowulf clustering materials for SUSE 7.1
    Andrea Arcangeli, Linux kernel developer, developed the big memory patch for the 2.4 kernel, networking

These SUSE staff members are available during the show at the SUSE booth, #1539.

"Mr. Robertson, Mr. Nashif, and Mr. Arcangeli are well known in the Linux community and their contributions to Open Source are an integral part of the success of Linux," commented Volker Wiegand, President of SUSE Inc.

The recent release of SUSE Linux 7.1, which includes the newly released Kernel 2.4, is particularly noteworthy with Mr. Nashif and Mr. Arcangeli playing important roles in its development. In addition to being the primary architect of effective and stable high-availability software such as Heartbeat, Mr. Robertson is working on the project to create a version of SGI's FailSafe for Linux.

Other SUSE staff members at the show who are also prominent Linux developers include Keith Packard, XFree86 Project, Kurt Granroth, Developer/Evangelist/KDE Component Technologies, and Waldo Bastian, KDE Core Developer, all of whom are also speaking at LWE.

The SUSE booth is located in position 1539 at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center and the SUSE team members are available to the media, developer community, and the general public throughout the show.
