The /var/log/messages file includes lines like these:

This bug has been fixed in kernel 3.0.101- on SLES 11 SP2 and 3.0.101-0.15.1 on SLES 11 sp3.  However, it is advised to update to the the most recently released kernel. 


A softlockup was being caused in the shrink_dcache_for_umount_subtree.
