SUSE Certified - Certification Framework

Program Description

The “SUSE Certified” certification is a product certification framework tailored for partners in the Innovate specialization of the SUSE One Partner Program. This new certification level is designed to address the evolving needs of SUSE partners in the software and hardware space, ensuring partner products are thoroughly tested, supported, and integrated within the SUSE ecosystem. The “SUSE Certified” certification aims to foster collaboration, promote innovation, and maintain quality standards across software and hardware products while streamlining the certification process. The rationale behind it is to introduce a more inclusive and comprehensive certification process, on top of the established SUSE Ready certification framework, that can adapt to the diverse range of products developed by SUSE partners. By combining the certification requirements for both software and hardware products, partners can leverage a unified framework to showcase their commitment to quality and compatibility. Furthermore, this new level accommodates the growing trends of Edge and IoT technologies, which may not fit traditional certification criteria, thus enabling partners to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving technology landscape. 

 

Thе “SUSE Certified” certification encompasses the following: 

  • Formal Testing Criteria: Products undergoing certification will be tested under formal criteria set forth by SUSE, based on the specific product integration category in scope (see below for more details), ensuring quality and compatibility. 

  • Product Integration Categories: 

  • “SUSE Certified – CNI” (definition and step-by-step guide) 

  • “SUSE Certified - Rancher Extension” (definition and step-by-step guide) 

 

  • Joint Testing: Testing will be conducted by the partner, SUSE, or both parties, ensuring a collaborative and thorough evaluation of the products. 

  • Collaborative Support: Support will be provided by the respective parties for their products, ensuring specialized and tailored assistance. 

  • Independent Lifecycles: The “SUSE Certified” framework recognizes the independent support and product lifecycles of both software and hardware products. 

  • Unified Certification Level: This certification level brings together partner software and hardware products under a single certification framework, facilitating collaboration and integration. 

 

By adopting the “SUSE Certified” certification level, partners in the SUSE One Partner Program can ensure their products meet high-quality standards while benefiting from a unified and comprehensive certification framework.
