SUSE today announced that Mirantis, the leading systems integrator for OpenStack™ cloud deployments, and B1 Systems GmbH, a leading open source solution provider, have joined the beta program for SUSE’s upcoming OpenStack-powered solution for private and hybrid clouds. Mirantis’ comprehensive technical understanding of OpenStack technologies and B1 Systems’ knowledge of SUSE’s product will be invaluable during the final testing and subsequent customer deployments of SUSE’s enterprise-ready cloud solution.
“Having these two distinguished partners join our beta program is another major milestone in the development of the ecosystem for SUSE’s OpenStack-powered cloud solution,” said Michael Miller, vice president of Global Alliances and Marketing for SUSE. “Their unique skills, valuable knowledge and experience will help SUSE customers easily deploy private clouds for production workloads.”
Mirantis, a SUSE Gold Partner and fellow member of the OpenStack Foundation, works closely with SUSE engineering to incorporate their extensive OpenStack experience into SUSE innovation and development processes. B1 Systems, a SUSE Platinum Partner and participant in the OpenStack ecosystem will draw on its long history of testing and quality assurance work to help ensure SUSE delivers a seamless, enterprise-ready solution. Both will provide consulting, training and technical services for enterprises implementing the new SUSE cloud solution.
“Both Mirantis and SUSE align perfectly in their commitment to the open source vision for OpenStack,” said Boris Renski, co-founder and executive vice president at Mirantis. “Mirantis’ purpose is to make it both safe and easy for enterprises of all sizes to adopt OpenStack software unencumbered by proprietary packaging. SUSE’s proven leadership in driving commercial Linux is motivated by much the same approach. Thus, it’s natural for us to partner with a key OpenStack player like SUSE.”
B1 Systems’ comprehensive project experience with Linux and other open source software projects complement SUSE’s long-standing, award-winning customer support system. Over a decade of helping customers deploy SUSE Linux Enterprise ensures B1 Systems is equipped to support and aid customers looking to integrate the upcoming SUSE private cloud solution with their existing infrastructures.
“Like SUSE, B1 offers solutions tailored for the needs of today’s fast-paced and ever-changing open source and cloud environments,” said Ralph Dehner, CEO and Founder, B1 Systems. “Our primary goal is to provide the best support and customization tools available in today’s open source market – a commitment embodied through leading vendors like SUSE.”
Last fall, SUSE revealed plans to deliver the industry's first enterprise-ready OpenStack-powered private cloud solution. SUSE’s solution will enable enterprise customers to efficiently deploy an OpenStack-powered private cloud infrastructure that integrates with the hypervisors, operating systems and management solutions already used in their data center today. To be launched this summer, SUSE private cloud solution will be backed by SUSE's industry-leading support, services and partner ecosystem.
