3.2 Starting WebYaST

  1. In order to configure your SLMS installation, the WebYaST start-up service rcwebyast must be running. In case you have deployed SLMS as an appliance, the service is already running. Otherwise, check its status with

    rcwebyast status

If the service is not running, start it with

    rcwebyast start

as root on the command line.

  2. If you plan to manage SLMS with WebYaST remotely, make sure to open TCP port 4984 in the Computer > WebYaST > Security and Users > Firewall dialog of the firewall. Allow the service called WebYaST UI.

  3. Run your favorite Web browser and point it to https://hostname:4984, where hostname is the hostname of the server running the WebYaST application (supply localhost if you are connecting locally).

  4. Log in as root.

NOTE: In the WebYaST control panel there are several icons representing different plug-ins. This manual only deals with the SLMS WebYaST plug-in. For more information on other WebYaST plug-ins, see the WebYaST User Guide at http://www.suse.com/documentation/webyast/.

  5. Click the SLMS Configuration icon in the WebYaST control panel. This opens the SLMS configuration plug-in. Depending on the server deployment scenario, you can continue with either Section 3.3, All-In-One Server Setup or Section 3.4, Setup with Two Servers.
