SUSECON 2023 Conference FAQ

Yes. SUSECON Digital will occur beginning Wednesday, June 28 for those who wish to attend but are unable to make it to our in-person Munich event.  

The best place to start is the SUSECON web site for most of your questions and curiosities. If you need an official answer to a burning question and can't find it, email us at SUSECON_Support@suse.com and a member of the SUSECON team will respond. 

Yes! The Session Catalog will be available Monday, May 22, 2023.  
 
The catalog will include the titles and abstracts for the following session content:

Session presentations will be available on the SUSECON website during the week of the conference and will be accessible for a year thereafter.

The technology showcase area will be open during the SUSECON hours from Tuesday through Thursday.  

Registration will open on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. To register, create your SUSECON credentials (username and password) here.

The SUSECON registration site accepts all major credit cards.

There is no registration deadline, but attendance is limited… so register now!  

You can register on-site if you want to wait until you arrive in Munich. However, we encourage you to register by Sunday, May 21 in order to take advantage of early-bird rates, get the best hotel rates and ensure that the conference is not sold out by the time you register.  

Once you have completed your on-line registration, you will receive a confirmation email verifying your registration. Keep this receipt for your records. If you do not receive your confirmation email (and have checked your spam folder), please email SUSECON_Support@suse.com. 

We will accept cancellations for full conference passes if cancelled by 23:59 UTC on Friday, May 26. Full conference registrants who cancel by the deadline will get their registration fee refunded, minus a €100 processing fee.  

Substitutions are permitted prior to the conference and will be subject to a €50 service charge.  

To process a cancellation or substitution, the original registrant must send a request to SUSECON_Support@suse.com. 

Yes! Watch your email and social media and periodically check the SUSECON website for updates regarding the conference.  

You will also want to register for the sessions you wish to attend. Session scheduling will open at the end of May. 

You will receive your SUSECON credentials and registration materials at the SUSECON registration desk when you check-in to the event, starting Monday, June 19, 2023.

The Munich Airport is located 45 minutes by car to The Westin Grand Munich Hotel.

Attendees are responsible arranging their own transportation to SUSECON, and this includes transportation to and from the airport. These expenses are not included in your SUSECON registration.

Suggested arrival in Munich is Monday, June 19.

Registration will be held from 13:00 – 19:00 at The Westin Grand Hotel. Registration will also be available in the morning on Tuesday, June 20 starting at 7:30.  

On Monday evening, join us from 17:00 to 19:00 for Birds of a Feather!  

SUSECON 2023 will have a limited room block at the Westin Grand Hotel with a rate of €205 per night, single occupancy, and is inclusive of taxes, breakfast, WiFi, service and use of the hotel wellness area. Double occupancy will incur a €30 per night supplement. If booking within the dates of 18 June to 22 June 2023 you may make your reservations HERE.

The deadline for the SUSECON room rate is Friday, 26 May 2023.

CHECK IN/CHECK OUT TIME

Check-in time: 3:00 p.m.
Check-out time: 12:00 p.m.

In the case of an early or late arrival, please inform the Weston immediately. They will be pleased to check availability for you and reserve the room for early check in or late arrival. In this case the Westin reserves the right to calculate a reasonable compensation. The Westin will let you know detailed rates upon request.

Should an early check‐in or late check‐out not be possible, the hotel will store luggage for the guest on a complimentary basis.

The SUSECON rates are available between 18.06.2023 till 22.06.2023. The hotel kindly offers additional rooms or pre-/post nights outside these dates for the best available rates upon availability. For dates outside the offered dates above, please call the hotel to make the reservations at +49 69 950 96 357 or by sending an email to CEC.MUCWI@marriott.com. Use registration code SUSECON 2023.

Reserved rooms can be cancelled until 09.06.2023 free of charge. The rooms will be held for late arrival. If a guest will not arrive at the hotels or cancel the booking after 09.06.2023, the guest will be charged with 90% of the room rate for all nights.

PARKING

Parking at the Westin Grand Hotel is €30 per day.

That depends on whether or not you want to see the sights and enjoy the local cuisine of Munich during SUSECON's open nights.  

Break snacks and lunch will be served Tuesday through Thursday at the conference, and food and beverages will be provided at the SUSECON conference parties. Breakfast is typically provided by your hotel depending on the reservation.  

Absolutely. You can take advantage of wireless internet access throughout the event. For wireless access, 802.11b-compatible cards (or laptops) will be supported. The network name will be provided onsite. 

You can expect very pleasant temperatures during the day in June. The average maximum temperatures range from low temperatures around 12.6°C (54°F) to highs around 22°C (71.6°F). Rain is quite common in June. You will want to pack accordingly and have a light wind and waterproof jacket. 

We recommend checking the local weather in Munich before departing your home city. 

We're not too picky about how you look; we just want you to come and be comfortable. You might want to check the local weather before you get here so you can bring clothing appropriate for the expected weather. Most attendees wear business casual or jeans with a t‐shirt. 

A guest pass is available for all evening functions for a fee of €150 per guest. This includes any regularly scheduled SUSE‐hosted conference activities after the close of daily sessions. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed at the evening events. Guest passes may be purchased on the SUSECON registration site.
