SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15

Automated installation with an autoyast profile stops with a warning:
ERROR: Element rule has extra content: dialog

or similar.
A user might see:

To verify if the autoyast syntax is valid, run jing command against the profile:
jing /usr/share/YaST2/schema/autoyast/rng/rules.rng rules.xml

If there is a syntax error, the command above provides information about the line containing the error.
You have two choices:
  1. Update the profile with the correct syntax
  2. Add YAST_SKIP_XML_VALIDATION=1 boot parameter to skip the profile validation

With SLES15 AutoYaST now validates the profile at runtime, reporting issues to the user.
