Restarting containerized services daemon on SUSE Enterprise Storage 7

This document (000019872) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Enterprise Storage 7

Situation

A containerized daemon such as node-exporter needs to be restarted.

Resolution

While ceph orch --refresh restarts services automatically after applying changes to a ceph cluster, it is sometimes necessary to start or stop a containerized service on a single node:

For example, to manually start the service "node-exporter", run
  ceph orch daemon start node-exporter.$HOST

To stop that service, run
  ceph orch daemon stop node-exporter.$HOST

In both cases, replace $HOST with the hostname of the node
.
