Config Notes
NEEDED: kernel boot parameter "acpi=oldboot".
NEEDED: non-SuSE cciss driver updates, see below.
Initial installation must proceed as follows:
+ First, install SLES-8 GA:
* Boot medium: United Linux 1.0 SP3 CD1 (!)
* To Utilize Additionally: SP3 cciss DUD provided by HP (this needs an auxiliary floppy drive, e.g. USB): cpq_cciss-2.4.54-14.ul10.amd64.dd.gz ; md5sum: 3ccddc592ca35ae84e16ab63e841c5ff
+ Second, perform full Update to SP3 (e.g. via Patch CD)
+ Finally, perform Update to SP4:
* Standard Patch-CD or online Update
* System is now temporarily unbootable. Therefore: _Immediately, prior to reboot:_ install SP4 cciss driver update RPM provided by HP (this is supposed to also properly adjust the boot configuration. Check!): cpq_cciss-2.4.56-6.sles8.amd64.rpm ; md5sum: 8151483b81767b24e3091cf2110d3ecc
* Then Reboot, in order to activate the SP4 kernel
