Openssl 1.0.1.g security issue

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 3 (SLES 11 SP3)

Situation

For servers that have been manually installed with the feature openssl-1.0.1 version; security vulnerabilities have been found and fixed. 
  • SSL/TLS MITM vulnerability. (CVE-2014-0224)
  • DTLS recursion flaw. (CVE-2014-0221)
  • DTLS invalid fragment vulnerability. (CVE-2014-0195)
  • SSL_MODE_RELEASE_BUFFERS NULL pointer dereference. (CVE-2014-0198)
  • Anonymous ECDH denial of service. (CVE-2014-3470)

Resolution

The patch was released June 5th 2014, in update openssl-1.0.1g-0.16.1. Apply the openssl rpms via online updates.   Manual Download  (choose architecture)
It is suggested to update to the latest released version of openssl to be current with security fixes.

This patch fixes CVE-2014-0195, CVE-2014-0198, CVE-2014-0221, CVE-2014-0224, CVE-2014-3470

CVE-2014-0195 and CVE-2014-0198 did not affect the openssl version 0.9.8j.  For information about that version see TID 7015162.
