PXE GRUB menu is not showing the profiles

This document (000020313) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Manager Server 4.2

Situation

The server to be installed is using EFI.
The menu after PXE is only showing the distributions.

Resolution

Due to a change upstream, the behavior of the PXE GRUB menu has changed. The showed distribution is a sub-menu. When selecting an item, all profiles will be displayed that have the distribution as source.

This can also been seen in /srv/tftpboot/grub # cat x86_64_menu_items.cfg:
submenu 's153-st1:1:suse' --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
menuentry 'SL_SERVER:1:suse' --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
  echo 'Loading kernel ...'
  clinux /images/s153-st1:1:suse/linux  self_update=0 install=http://susemanager.suse.com/ks/dist/s153-st1 insecure=1 useonlinerepo=1  autoyast=http://susemanager.suse.com/cblr/svc/op/autoinstall/profile/SL_SERVER:1:suse
  echo 'Loading initial ramdisk ...'
  cinitrd /images/s153-st1:1:suse/initrd
}
menuentry 'mgt-nicd-mon1:1:suse' --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
  echo 'Loading kernel ...'
  clinux /images/s153-st1:1:suse/linux  self_update=0 install=http://susemanager.suse.com/ks/dist/s153-st1 insecure=1 useonlinerepo=1  autoyast=http://susemanager.suse.com/cblr/svc/op/autoinstall/profile/mgt-nicd-mon1:1:suse
  echo 'Loading initial ramdisk ...'
  cinitrd /images/s153-st1:1:suse/initrd
}

This happens only for EFI. When using traditional BIOS, nothing has changed.

Cause

Working as designed. The change is coming from upstream.
