Attempt to replace surprise removed device in RAID1 LVM array fails

Environment

SUSE Enterprise Linux Server 15 SP2

Situation

In a RAID1 Logical Volume Array created, if one of the members of the RAID1 array is surprise removed,
the LVM does not replace the surprise removed device with the free PV available in the VG.

Resolution

Workaround:
'lvconvert --repair' command could be used to add the free PV to the RAID1 array.

This Bug is fixed in the maintenance update of lvm2 package version lvm2-2.03.05-8.6.1.

Cause

LVM needs patch to fix and handle the failover logic.
An upstream patch allows lvconvert to perform a pre repair check and carry out a repair attempt automatically in case of device failure.
