lvdisplay shows status of RAID 0 LV as 'Available' when one of the members of the raid is surprise removed

This document (000019716) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP2

Situation

When using LVM to create a RAID 0 type array, and a member of the RAID array is surprise removed,
the lvdisplay command continues to show the LV status as available, even though there is a missing drive on the LV.

Resolution

'lvdisplay' showing status as ‘available' is expected as it indicates the presence of LV in the DM table.

Use the command, 'lvs -o +lv_health_status' to check the RAID status/health.
The field displays ‘partial' when a RAID member is missing.
