Short flicker of splash screen at boot

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 Service Pack 3 (SLED 11 SP3)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 Service Pack 4 (SLED 11 SP4)

Situation

During system boot, the splash screen flickers shortly.

Resolution

null

Cause

A short flicker may be noticeable when the graphics mode is switched from VESA frame buffer to the native display driver. This is due to the native display driver re-initializing the graphics controller and cannot be avoided.
