Module VNC cannot be loaded

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1

Situation

The module VNC cannot be loaded due to version mismatch.
The error shown in /var/log/Xorg.0.log looks as following
 
(II) LoadModule: "vnc"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules//extensions/libvnc.so
(II) Module vnc: vendor="xf4vnc Project, see http://xf4vnc.sf.net (based on
modu
lar X.org)"
        compiled for 1.6.5, module version = 1.1.0
        Module class: X.Org Server Extension
        ABI class: X.Org Server Extension, version 1.0
(EE) module ABI major version (1) doesn't match the server's version (2)
(II) UnloadModule: "vnc"
(II) Unloading /usr/lib/xorg/modules//extensions/libvnc.so
(EE) Failed to load module "vnc" (module requirement mismatch, 0)

 

Resolution

The xorg-x11-server update released December/2010 includes the fix for the problem.
