SLES11 dhcpcd does not work with DHCP Option 33 Static Route

This document (7005089) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

DHCP
DHCP Options
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11

Situation

DHCP Option 33 was being handed out correctly to a SLES11 server. The route provided by this option was being added via the dhcpcd client to the SLES11 routing table, but was missing the gateway component. SLES10 dhcpcd client did not have this problem and would add the same route with the expected gateway component.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in dhcpcd-3.2.3-44.10.1 which is available in the update channel.

Additional Information

NOTE: The type of DHCP server has nothing to do with this issue. Option 33 was being handed out correctly, the problem was the way the dhcpcd client on SLES11 was using Option 33.
