Pagecache bug can lead to hangs on SLES for SAP

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 for SAP Applications Service Pack 4


A bug has been identified in the pagecache mechanism which can cause servers to hang.

The symptom often presents it's self as very heavy I/O with blocked processes awaiting opportunity to make file updates.


SUSE engineering has created a patch for this issue. It has been released in to the maintenance channels.
