How to prevent dynamic DNS updates during "net ads join"

This document (7023944) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12

Situation

Linux machines are being added to a AD domain.  As a result, entries are being dynamically added to the configured DNS server.  It is desired that this be avoided.

Resolution

Add the option "--no-dns-updates" to the "net ads join" command.

Additional Information

This is a replacement for older TID 7017489, which was not accurate.  That older TID has been deleted.
