Studio onsite: Users are unable to edit appliance

This document (7023357) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Studio 1.3

Situation

After an unclean shutdown (power outage) users are unable to edit or create new appliances

After login to webUI following error is shown:
Could not get the setup status.

After trying to edit/create an application within webUI a message in red is shown:
Software failure. Press left mouse button to continue - unable to call sid @ 127.0.0.1:3008...

Port 3008 is httpd and trying "rcstudio_sunspot_solr restart" will show you a message that
it is unable to connect to 127.0.0.1:27017 which is mongodb.

rcmongodb restart will show that there is a file lock probably from an unclean shutdown

Resolution

Remove the mongodb file lock, then try to restart mongodb:
rm /var/lib/mongodb/mongod.lock
rcmongodb restart

Afterwards restart of the services rcstudio* is required.

Cause

Due to unclean shutdown mongodb was unable to recover and removing the file lock.
