How can you ensure that GroupWise Webaccess does not use TLS1.0

This document (7016749) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 3 (SLES 11 SP3)
Novell GroupWise 2014

Situation

Customer is currently not passing all security compliance checks, because Webaccess on the SLES11 linux environment is using TLS1.0.   Can this be changed to disable TLS1.0.

Resolution

This is not a configuration controlled by GroupWise Webaccess, but by the Apache2 Webserver on SLES11.  The following Suse Linux website may give some insight as to how this can be done :

https://www.suse.com/documentation/sles11/book_sle_admin/data/sec_apache2_ssl.html

However, you may wish to open a service request with the Suse Linux support team.

Additional Information

There are two segments that can be independently secured. From browser to WebAccess, and from WebAccess to POA. GroupWise does not control if TLS1.0 is used to secure the transmission between the browser and Webaccess.  That is controlled by the Webserver configuration, in this case Apache2 on SLES11 linux.

For the latter (Webaccess to the POA), we do control this segment but don't have anything currently in the Webaccess configuration to set the version of the TLS that is used.  This would be an enhancement and a Bug would have to be created.
