Studio Onsite upload of EC2 image to Amazon AWS fails

Environment

SUSE Studio Onsite 1.3

Situation

After building an Amazon EC2 image and then attempting to upload it to AWS it fails.

The log file /srv/studio/runner/log/amazon_service-*.log shows this error near the beginning:

ERROR: Request has expired.

Resolution

The interaction between Studio and AWS is very dependent on the time stamp being accurate on both ends of the communication. If the Studio server is off by as little as 15 minutes it can cause this time out problem.
